Thai massage

Thai Massage is a traditional art practiced in Thailand. Thai Massage is a form of therapeutic touch that differs in many ways from traditional massage. Thai Massage is more than just relaxation; it's a holistic approach to wellness. Thai massage is part of traditional Thai medicine; enhancing circulation, relieving headaches, improving energy levels, and quality of sleep. Our skilled Therapists practice the ancient art of Thai Massage, a therapeutic touch that sets it apart from traditional massages. Discover the benefits of Thai Massage as the Therapist manipulates your body in certain ways to relieve joint and muscle pain, enhance circulation, stimulate organs, improve flexibility, and enhance your overall well-being through relaxation.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Orthopedic Physical Therapy is an interdisciplinary practice that encompasses a number of treatments targeting the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic injuries include injuries to bones, joints, ligaments, muscles and other parts of the musculoskeletal system. The physical therapists at Bodyworx use a variety of therapeutic modalities (temperature treatment, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, etc.), assistive devices and other tools to maximize the recovery potential of every patient who visits us. From stretches to light exercises, intensive exercises and beyond, our clinicians will create a custom treatment plan that ensures a speedy and full recovery.

Manual Therapy

Closely related to orthopedic physical therapy, manual therapy primarily includes the kneading and manipulation of muscles to treat pain and soreness throughout the musculoskeletal system. Manual therapy treatments include instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), Percussion massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage and a variety of other practices. The physical therapists at Bodyworx draw upon decades of medical experience to devise manual therapy solutions that fit each patient’s specific needs.

Mechanical Lumbar/Cervical Traction

Mechanical cervical or lumbar traction is a treatment technique by which intermittent force is applied to the neck or back to decompress the spine, opening up spaces between the patient's vertebrae to reduce pressure on nerve roots. Cervical traction is primarily used to treat neck pain, while lumbar traction is used to treat spinal pain conditions like degenerative disc disease, herniated discs and osteoarthritis. At Bodyworx, we implement the “mechanical” part of the treatment using state-of-the-art machines to maximize benefits and minimize potential for injury.

AlterG Unweighting Treadmill

The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill is a groundbreaking piece of equipment designed for the purpose of unweighting. Unweighting is a process by which the impact of body weight and gravitational forces are lessened when walking or running. The AlterG Treadmill reduces the negative effects of gravity and allows patients to improve their stability and mobility in a more timely and efficient manner.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a physical therapeutic practice in which tiny needles are inserted at myofascial trigger points and other crucial areas where patients experience pain or soreness. Similar to acupuncture, dry needling is defined by the American Physical Therapy Association as a technique used to treat muscle tissue dysfunction, minimize pain and regulate structural damage. The clinicians at Bodyworx have extensive experience administering dry needle treatment and will work with you to determine if it is an appropriate treatment option.

Precor Cardio and Strength Machines

Precor is one of the physical therapy industry’s leading manufacturers of cardio machines, strength machines, and other pieces of exercise equipment. At Bodyworx Physical Therapy, our state-of-the-art transitional gym is fully outfitted with Precor cardio and strength machines, which our clinicians use to help patients reach (and even exceed) their recovery goals.

Therapeutic Massages

Therapeutic massage is a crucial element of many physical therapy regimens. The clinicians at Bodyworx Physical Therapy are highly educated, licensed and certified to perform rigorous therapeutic massages that stimulate muscle tissue and help patients deal with aches and pains. Different modalities can be used in therapeutic massages depending on each patient’s needs.

Cupping

Cupping is an age-old form of alternative medicine in which the therapist places special cups on the skin to assist with blood flow, inflammation, pain and other issues. The modern version of cupping used by physical therapists in the Western world is often called myofascial decompression. It essentially causes a local inflammatory response in the tissue to aid in healing and recovery.

Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic therapy is a highly effective form of treatment designed to help patients build their strength and endurance. By performing exercises in water, patients can minimize gravity’s negative effects and focus their musculoskeletal system on the exercises at hand. Aquatic therapy has been shown to help patients dealing with a wide variety of issues, from arthritis to fibromyalgia and beyond. Call Bodyworx Physical Therapy today to find out more!
